Tip to Hide drives and Partitions

You can keep secrete, your PC partitions or drives from others. This tip is really helpful for the users having single computer; therefore it is very difficult to save your secret data from the other users. But with the help of this trick, you can hide your drive and different partitions. You can use windows XP TweakUI utility or registry editor to hide the drives. To deal with windows XP TweakUI, click on the start menu then select Run and type tweakui and push enter key. A small TweakUI line will unlock with options to uncheck drives that you like to hide. Click OK to close it.

Registry editor is also helpful to edit the computer registry to hide the drives but be careful while working in computer registry.

Keep following the given steps to hide your computer drives:

• Click on Start menu then click on Run option and type Regedit.

• Here place the setting to:
HKey_Current_User \ Software \ Microsoft \ Windows
\ Current Version \ Policies \ Explorer
• Now right click on right area of Registry editor panel and insert new DWORD and put its value 3FFFFFF.
• Now close the registry editor and restart your system after making changes.
