Important Instructions

First of all you should be aware of the fact that how much your children know about recycling process. This will help you a lot in understanding that what points need clearance and which points are already clear in the minds of children. As parents, your duty is not only to tell them the importance of recycling but also make them aware that it really feels good seeing the surroundings neat and clean.

Now the next step is to classify the items that need to be recycled. These items may include plastic, glass or papers. Make sure that the kids are able to classify between the items which are recycled and which are not. You can take help from visual aids in order to help the children memorize recyclable items. Make this process full of fun and enjoyment.

Next step is to clear a space where kids can put paper, plastic and glass separately. You can use a spot in your garage as recycling center. Here your duty is to make sure that kids are able to see that recycle truck visits once a week to take these items away.

You should also provide a chance to the kids to see a landfill where items like paper and plastic are disposed off. They will understand that properly disposing off the items is necessary for the clean and healthy environment. If you are unable to find a landfill near your house, then you can manage it by letting them see the pictures of landfill in a book or on internet.

A trip to recycling plant would be of great benefit for kids to understand the whole recycling process and its importance. If you can’t arrange a visit then you go to internet and search for a site having videos of this recycling process.

To encourage the children, try to reward them for their efforts and let them know that you are proud of them for what they have done for their environment.
