How To Change Excel’s Background Color

During working in worksheet excel doesn’t give the option to change the background. However there are few methods from that you are able to change the color of your choice. These tips are applicable on Microsoft Excel 97, Excel 2000, Excel 2002 and Excel 2003.

White color is standard background in Excel and you can’t change the color but I am going to share with you some tricks which will help you in changing the background.

During working in the worksheet you can change the background by filling color to the cells. And if you don’t want to fill the color the then selects the cell and removes the fill color. This is can be done by using macro to remove the color, print or reapplication.

Another way to create your favorite graphics program is, just saves the small rectangle as graphics file by using the JPG file format. Then follow these steps.

Select Sheet from the format menu and select background from the sub-menu then sheet background dialog box appears. Then locate and select the graphics in the dialog box of your choice. Then click on OK.

The graphic image is in the background and to fill the whole back ground repeat again and again. And the good thing is that, it does not affect on the conditional formatting, without printing background image. And if you are not using conditional format in worksheet then you can use it to create the back ground. You must define the cell that contains the true value. Then select the area of work sheet where you want to give the background color. Use the conditional format to define the color. The format will look the cell you defined and it is true then the color is applied but if it is untrue then color will not change. This helps you to change background color on or off only by altering the value of single cell.
