Tips for Fiber Optic

A fiber optic cable include tubes of glass or plastic fiber which pass on digital data, above long distances at excellent speed rates than any other wired or wireless connection. Distinctive optical fibers composed of a narrow fiber or glass fiber known as core. This core is enclosed by a concentric layer of glass, just like the shield. The diameter of a core is 62.5 microns and the diameter of shield is almost 125 microns. The shield is covered with insulating substance, for example, plastic jacket.

If we talk about twisted-pair cable and coaxial cable, information is transmitted in the shape of electric frequencies. So it is recommended that, protect the copper wires from water and electromagnetic waves. These problems will stay away, if you use fiber optic cable.

In fiber-optic cables data is transmit through light, that’s why its broadcasting speed is very high. The transmission speed is about billions bits per second. Refraction is one of the main qualities of the fiber optics. Refraction is the feature of a substance to pass or reflect light.

The good things about fiber optic cables are:
• Its broadcasting capability is about 26,000 times better than twisted pair media and it is more reliable than any other broadcasting.
• It has excellent security and very light and thin as compare to other metal wires.
• Electromagnetic noise like radios, motors and others cables cannot create any disturbances in the way of fiber optics.

That’s why the fiber-optic cables are becoming more in used and put back the old cable system. Nowadays, fiber optics is working in different field for example, in banks, and television companies etc.
If we come on the other side, these cables are much expensive and not easy to install.
